Recently, the Government of SP launched new apps to contact the Military Police and the Fire Department.

Emergency Fire Department
This app is already available in the Android and iOS stores and handles all types of incidents that the institution already responds to. These include:

- Traffic accident victims;

- Cardiorespiratory arrests.
In addition, the app allows the user’s location to be identified through the phone’s GPS. How many times have there been misunderstandings with the Fire Department because of incorrect information about the reported incident? According to the government, the developers are working to offer more services on the platform. Therefore, starting in February, the system has already announced that the app will receive new updates, such as sending photos, audio, and videos of up to ten seconds. 190 SP
This is one of the apps that will most benefit the population of São Paulo, as it is closely linked to the quality of public safety. According to the Military Police itself, more than 50,000 calls are received per day, which makes good service difficult. With the “190 SP” app, the call center can manage more cases and offer better services.
So this is a new way to contact the police, and soon most people will be using it because we are a country that appreciates apps. Like the other app, this one will also handle only six categories of incidents. It includes domestic violence, noise disturbances, alarm triggers, failure to comply with Covid-19 health rules in commerce, crowds during the pandemic, and fights.
These functions were carefully selected because they are the incidents with the highest volume that the exchange receives every day. Generally, noise disturbances and beatings are the main cases police officers handle on weekends. Therefore, with this technology, the vehicle can reach locations with greater precision.
Other “190” apps from other states are already operating, but in Greater São Paulo this is the first. The company that partnered with the government was Indra, and this app cost around R$ 200,000. It is also already available for Android and iOS.
How do I sign up for the apps?
To contact the São Paulo Military Police through the app, the user needs to register personal data such as name, CPF, address, phone number, email, and also create a login and password. In addition, it asks for an identification number, the mother’s name, and the user must be 18 years old or older. All this is meant to make it easier to track possible false reports and so the police can get in touch to carry out the operation.
To contact the Fire Department, the process is simpler. Therefore, you only need to provide the following data: full name, CPF, phone number, and email. Then, just accept the terms of use and register. Next, it sends a code to the email, and the person enters it into the app. Okay, all set!
